Off she goes!

Yesterday, May 29 2013, at 2:00pm, Sister Meg Wright was safely delivered to the Missionary Training Center (MTC) in Provo UT.  It was an emotional and wonderful day.  Some precious and sacred family time, followed by pictures at the temple, and then the official hand-off to a cute little red-headed sister missionary who escorted her.  We stood on the sidewalk and watched Sister Wright walk with purpose toward the front doors of the MTC, and she never looked back.

Elder Nelson said, "The decision to serve a mission will shape the spiritual destiny of the missionary, his or her spouse and their posterity for generations to come.  A desire to serve a mission is the natural outcome of one's conversion, worthiness, and preparation."  Meg was prepared for this moment in her life, and I have no doubt that she will bring joy and love of Christ to many people, both in Fiji, and also here at home.

This was an especially tender goodbye.  Adam is planning on serving a mission as well and will be leaving in about 14 months.  They will not see each other for 3 years.

Vanuinui vinaka e nomu volau, Sister Wright!

By the way, that comment at the end is Fijian for "Bon Voyage". But I couldn't pronounce it to save my life!

This is the 3rd time I've tried to leave a comment. Maybe this will be a charm! Meg we love you so much. We always knew you were born with a willing, loving, giving, sharing, compassionate, and "old" soul! The people in Fiji will love you with all their hearts! Enjoy the next 18 months. We love you
